Euro Jerseys arrive from Adidas!

Good news soccer fans! Our shipment of Euro equipment from Adidas has just arrived! We received jerseys from Spain, Germany, and Scotland as well as other team and fan wear. All of the jerseys that Adidas has realeased are made from ClimaCool material and feature intricate designs to bring out the colours of the jerseys. The Spanish national team will be sporting their classic red, yellow, and blue jerseys that have seen them win both the Euro 2008 and World Cup 2012. The Germans will be sporting a core green and white second jersey, the same colours the German internationals wore when they won the European Cup 40 years ago in 1972, hoping to continue the colour’s winning tradition. Whitecaps release new fan wear!

The Vancouver Whitecaps have just released new gear for the 2012 season and it has just arrived at First Touch Soccer! We have received new fitted baseball caps, flat brimmed hats, hoodies, licenced tees, as well as supplemental stock in all jerseys. The Whitecaps just had their first loss of the season against the San Jose Earthquakes. It wasn’t all bad news though, as during the game the Whitecaps broke an MLS record by holding a clean sheet for 428 minutes. If you’re looking for something to wear to support the new MLS record holders, come stop by the store to see what we’ve got.

First Shipment of Euro Gear Arrived

Hey Euro fans, we have some good news! Now that the tournament is only 3 months away, the offical licenced product is starting to arrive here at  First Touch Soccer. So far a portion of our Nike Shipment has arrived, bringing in Portugal, Croatia, and Holland gear. Although the official jerseys have yet to arrive, we have a lot of cool training and fan wear in stock. Due to these new arrivals, we have started a Euro 2012 section in the store right beside our boot wall. We will have all the new jerseys and apparel there, as well as loads of apparel from previous tournaments at sale prices. Come on in to check out the new gear!

Whitecaps over Impact 2-0

The Vancouver Whitecaps opened their 2012 season well yesterday with a big win over the newly promoted Montreal Impact. The Whitecap’s long awaited “Round 2″ began at BC Place and after boasting a much stronger team, the Whitecaps followed through. It took only three minutes for Sebastien Le Toux to put away his first goal as a Whitecap after Eric Hassli tipped the ball through for a breakaway. Vancouver continued to pour on the pressure while showing their other new talents Martin Bonjour, Jun Marques Davidson, Lee Young-Pyo, with Matt Watson and first round draft pick Darren Mattocks coming on as subs. It wasn’t until the 54th minute that the Whitecaps put another goal on the scoresheet courtesy of Camilo. After a great dummy play between Le Toux and Hassli, Chumiento sent Camilo in to the box to cut up the Impact’s defense and place the ball in the far corner. Other notable events include Lee’s goal line clearance in the 60th minute and Alain Rochat’s shot that rolled across the face of the goal after it ricocheted off the inside of the post in the 86th. It was an exciting game to watch and hopefully the rest of the season follows the same way. If you’re planning on going to a game or even if you’re watching at home, it’s great to get decked out in official Whitecaps gear to be part of the wave of white. New Nike CTR 360 Maestri and T90 Lasers arrive at First Touch

New products have come in from Nike, the two biggest being the new CTR 360 Maestri II in Navy, Blue, and Orange, as well as the new Nike T90 Laser IV in Red, White, and Black. The Maestri is made specifically for midfielders, with a 360 degree stud pattern in order to allow the player to pivot and turn his or her body to face all sides of the field. The boot also features a kanga-lite upper which feels and controls like kangaroo leather, as well as finned pass and recieve pods on the instep to profide more control and spin on the ball. The Maestri is the choice boot for great players such as Andres Iniesta and Mario Balotelli. The T90s, however are built for strikers, focusing on the “perfect strike.” They too are built with a kanga-lite upper and a bladed sole, but the big feature that sets them aside from any other boot is the Adaptive Shield that covers most of the upper. This shield is seen on the instep of the boot and has two parts; the bottom part which is designed for precise, curling balls, and the impressive top half which adapts around the ball as you strike it, providing more power. This boot will be worn by Wayne Rooney, Wesley Sneijder, and Giampaolo Pazzini. Stop by the store to check out these amazing boots!

All-Star Le Toux Signed to Whitecaps FC

Sebastien Le Toux to Boost Whitecaps’ Scoring

Vancouver Whitecaps FC released a very exciting announcement on January 31st in the signing of midfielder/striker Sebastien Le Toux. The Whitecaps only traded away allocation money to aquire the Frenchman from the Philedelphia Union, where he spent the last two seasons scoring 27 goals in 66 appearances. Le Toux has won the MLS Fair play award for both the 2010 and 2011 seasons, and was on both the MLS All-Star Team and the MLS Best XI for the 2010 season. He also was the USL First Division’s top scorer in 2007 before he and the Seattle Sounders moved to the MLS. Both Whitecaps Fans and Le Toux are looking forward to his return to the Pacific North West and also the potential pairing with fellow countryman Eric Hassli. He should be a great addition to the team and hopefully will bring us closer to MLS glory.
